AS THE FOUNDER, HERE IS MY PERSONAL STORY

I was diagnosed at birth with Turners Syndrome, and I am Classic Turners. I had all my medical problems as a child thankfully and never let it get me down.


I have the following features described below:


  • Low hairline 

  • Low ears

  • Short structure

  • Buffy feet

  • Hard of hearing 

  • Webbed neck


We as Turners Syndrome Girls and Ladies should be on the following medication - Hormone Replacement as well as Growth Hormone while growing up to grow us beautiful Turners Syndrome sisters.

I have never lived a down life or felt sorry for myself because of having Turners Syndrome. I am special and unique.  My parents have always been incredibly supportive and positive towards me. I live my life to the fullest. I love hiking and running as well as camping. I finished Matric with University Pass then went to Damelin College and did a Technical Financial Accounting course, which I am currently working as a bookkeeper. I’ve just completed a Life Coaching Course through UCT.

So never underestimate us Turners Syndrome Girls and Ladies.


Here are the features and information below about Turners Syndrome


  • A chromosomal disorder in which a female is born with only one X chromosome.

  • Turner syndrome results from a missing or incomplete sex chromosome.

  • Symptoms include short stature, delayed puberty, infertility, heart defects and certain learning disabilities.

  • Treatment involves hormone therapy. Fertility treatment may be necessary for women who want to become pregnant.

  • People may experience:

  • Developmental: abnormalities in development of reproductive organs, delayed puberty, or short stature

  • Whole body: high blood pressure or osteoporosis

  • Heart: congenital heart defect or narrowing of the aorta

  • Mouth: failure of teeth to develop normally or abnormally raised roof of the mouth

  • Also, common: absence of menstruation, dysplastic nail, female infertility, recurrent ear infections, widely spaced nipples, coeliac disease, elbow deformity, hearing loss, increased number of moles, kidney malformation, obesity, puffy hands and feet at birth, scoliosis, underactive thyroid, vision disorder, or webbed neck
